Atlantic City could get you enjoying a host of sports activities - from motor sports weekends to USTA Professional Circuit Events. And in between you also have sporting activities like - Indoor Racing, Offshore Powerboat Races, Insight Race Across America, Atlantic City Marathon Ocean Swim, World Championship Boxing, AC Archery Classic, NJ State Wrestling Championship, and of course the well known Atlantic City Marathon not to mention the National Cheerleading Competitions.

All these of course offer a thrill out of the ordinary and Atlantic City primes up regularly to facilitate every one to join in and enjoy the sports. In professional sports Atlantic City Surf is its professional baseball team. Its a member of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball. Not affiliated to the Major League Baseball, the Surf plays home games at Bernie Robins Stadium (former Sandcastle).

From 1998 to 2006, the Surf played in the South Division of the Atlantic League of the Professional Baseball. It was here that The Surf won the first-ever Atlantic League championship in 1998 while also hosting the inaugural Atlantic League All-Star game.

But what have they been doing lately might be your question. Atlantic City has never really enjoyed much success as a venue for professional sports teams. Baseball has been no exception. So if this sport is your choice as more than just an enjoyable pastime you could consider joining the team or league sponsored by Atlantic City.

On February 26, 2008, the Atlantic City Surf named former Major Leaguer Cecil Fielder as their manager for the 2008 season. Hopefully this could be the start to a good season.
