The Atlantic City Airshow 2010 “Thunder over the Boardwalk” comes back 100 years after the first airshows where hosted by Asbury Park & Atlantic City. This Airshow, which starts at 11:00 am on Wednesday, 25th Aug ‘10 and continues till 3:00pm, promises to be one of the biggest annual events of Atlantic City with a couple of welcome changes this year.

Sponsored by Harrah’s Entertainment, the Atlantic City Air Show comes forth as the best utilization of the wide expanse of the Atlantic City Beach and Boardwalk. Rightly named as the “Thunder over the Boardwalk”, this eighth annual event of Atlantic City is presented by the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. A crowd of 750,000 is estimated to witness this mesmerizing display of maneuvers, heart-stopping feats, formation flying, aerobatics and solo routines of military and civilian pilots.

The entire Atlantic City beach & boardwalk seems like a human jungle with millions of tourist flying down from across the globe to get a lifetime experience of witnessing aircrafts being maneuvered by young pilots in the most astonishing ways & advanced jets thundering across the wide Atlantic City skyline.

The key attraction however this year will be the fascinating “Flying Fearless” exhibit celebrating the centenary anniversary of New Jersey airshows. The exhibits will be held at the following locations:

Best Place to Watch Airshow:The best part about this airshow is that, it can be enjoyed from anyplace on the AC Beach & Boardwalk. However, the best places to get a bird eye view of the airshow are undoubtedly the Atlantic City Boardwalk hotels like, Boardwalk Bally’s Atlantic City & Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.

For Handicaps: For the handicapped, a special viewing area would be available at the pavilion at Montpelier Avenue & the Boardwalk.

The weather can really play possum in Atlantic City. With chances of flurries it’s going to be partly cloudy, windy and sunny alternatively. Conditions remain mostly overcast. Add to this the minus four degrees centigrade temperatures! However not all the chill can dampen the enthusiasm for fun and game that the city is famous for.

Come weekend and you have people rushing in from far and near to be here. So whats new now besides the gaming and the dining. On offer of course is a full calendar of events with a variety of entertainment options for visitors to choose from. This weekend I am headed with my Greek shippy friend who is keen to visit the International Power Boat Show in Atlantic city.

Kristos loves his boats. And he does not want to miss the annual exposition of hundreds of power boats, luxury yachts and a marine market featuring nautical gifts and also apparel. The event is being hosted by The Atlantic City Convention Center in the first week of February.

People are going to be here I am told for the boats and gear. I will of course be there for the fun of it all. One day - maybe just one day I might own a boat too. Who knows? Just so long as I keep trying my luck at the many gaming zones here!

No but seriously in the mean time checking out green boating zones would be just the sort of thing to begin with. But of course I will have a whale of a time at the Kids’ Cove and the Miss GEICO racing boat. Yes, February 7 and 8, I have a date in Atlantic city to go see the boats, gear and accessories. One day. Maybe just one day I will buy one too!
