Just as the debates are seeing closure and the voting machines are being put in place with campaign signs out, New Jersey gets ready to vote. There really aren’t that many places south of New York City that have as much variety in its show offerings as Atlantic City does. The big city events not only electrify the minds of the tourists but even participants enjoy the exhilaration of the events. No wonder shows get conducted here all year round.

Vacations especially appear to be a good time to take a break from routine to enjoy some great musical shows. If you are my kind and are looking for a break from all the noise of the slot machines and the crowds, then an entertaining evening of great music is just the thing. For that old time feeling a Kenny G evening or even Madonna’s numbers could put you in tranquil mood in these recessive times. King and the immensely enjoyable Cheetah Girls are all set to fire up fans with their typical music. So also the Dropkick Murphy’s are going to create a splash of their own with their brand of music. The oldies are in for their own kind of delight with Duran Duran and Kenny G who would be enthralling audiences in December. But what would be fascinating music lovers in the Northeast area would be Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet Tour that’s going to have the audiences gasping at the 50 plus singers vocal chords. November 22 will see the feisty singer at Boardwalk Hall making waves besides the Atlantic.

The annual Quiet Festival offers a weekend of quiet activities, most of which take place at Ocean City’s Art Center Atrium. Free to the public, this event includes such silent activities as seashell listening, performances by mimes, silent movies, and a storyteller who performs Indian hand tales. There is also a “Pet Your Pet” pageant and a feather dropping competition. Other interesting happenings to take place here are the Native American Indian Presentation by “Quiet Thunder,” at Absecon Lighthouse, on Sunday, November 16, the Holiday Preview Weekend, at Cape May, on Friday, November 21 - Sunday, November 23.
